Were-touched Berserker

A barbarian who has bonded with the spirit of a bear or wolf, the Were-Touched berserker is capable of devastating Rage, and can ultimately take the form of his totem animal. The secrets of becoming Were-touched have been passed down from Odin himself, and is said to involve the berserker tracking down and killing a wolf or bear with nothing more then a dagger. The berserker must then seek the forgiveness of the animal, and bond with its spirit, at which point he becomes Were-touched, gaining special powers when wearing the hide of his totem animal.

Requirements
To qualify to become a Were-touched Berserker, a character must fulfill all the following criteria:
Region: Norseland
Alignment: Any Chaotic
Race: Dreadblood, Half Elf, Human
Base Attack: +7
Feats: Berserk, Uninhibited Rage
Skills: Knowledge (religion) 3 ranks, Survival 5 ranks
Other: Pagan

Hit Die: d12
Class Skills: The Berserker’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Intimidate (Cha), Jump (Str), Listen (Wis), Spot (Wis), Survival (Wis), and Swim (Str).

Skill Points at Each Additional Level: 4+Int Modifier

Level Base Attack Bonus Fort Save Ref Save Will Save Special
1st +1 +2 +2 +0 Totem Animal
2nd +2 +3 +3 +0 Rage (+1/day)
3rd +3 +3 +3 +1 Totem Form
4th +4 +4 +4 +1 Damage Reduction 1/-
5th +5 +4 +4 +1 Were Form

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A Berserker is proficient with simple and marital weapons, light armor and shields (except tower shield). He is also proficient in natural attacks he may make while in animal or “were” form.

Totem Animal: The Berserker bonds with the spirit of either a wolf or brown bear, and retains the animals hide, which he normally wears. The bond is permanent, and cannot be switched to another animal. The hide of the Berserker’s totem animal is equivalent to +2 leather armor when worn by the Berserker and has DR of 2/-, which stacks with any DR the Berserker has. However the Berserker also gains the benefits of Uninhibited Rage while wearing the totem hide. The hide gives no armor bonus or DR to others.

Rage: At 2nd level the Berserker can rage one additional time per day.

Totem Form (Su): Starting at 3rd level, once per day as a standard action the Berserker can take the form of their totem animal, i.e. either a wolf or a black bear, when wearing the hide of their totem animal. The transformation does not draw an attack of opportunity, and the Berserker can stay in animal form for up to one hour per Berserker level per day. The Berserker gains both the special attacks and special qualities of the wolf or bear, but retains their HD and base hit points. Otherwise the transformation is similar to that of the polymorph spell. While in wolf or bear form, the berserker cannot speak normally, but can communicate with other wolves or bears, respectively, including dire ones, and receives a +4 to charisma based checks involving them.

Damage Reduction: The Berserker gains DR of 1, this stacks with other DR they have.

Were-form (SU): At 5th level when wearing their totem hide and in a berserk rage (see the Berserk feat), the Berserker can take a wolf-man or bear-man form, depending on their totem animal, as a standard action. DR is increased by 2 and they gain natural armor of 4 (which replaces the armor of their totem hide). In bear-berserker form Strength and Constitution are each increased by 2, and the berserker becomes large size. In wolf-berserker form, Strength and Constitution also increase 2, and Dexterity increases 4, but the wolf-berserker does not get larger. These ability increases are in addition to the normal increases for being in a berserk rage. The Berserker also gains a bite attack which does damage of d8+1/2 strength bonus in bear form or d6+1/2 strength bonus in wolf form and which can be combined with weapon attacks as part of a full attack, and claw attacks which do damage of d6 +strength bonus in bear form or d4+strength bonus in wolf form that can be used instead of weapons. They may still use a shield while in were form.
